Episode 9: The Professor is on the Screen

In this episode, we look at the ways in which academia and academics are represented on television, in cinema and in popular culture. We think through the political consequences of these representations and ask what the role of academic expertise in society should be.

The texts we refer to are:

"Academics can change the world – if they stop talking only to their peers" by Savo Heleta

"Addicted to the brand: The hypocrisy of a publishing academic" by Philip Moriarty

"Prof, no one is reading you" by Asit K. Biswas And Julian Kirchherr
